Confidence in Confidentiality: SB 62 Passes Senate Unanimously!

Legislation to create an address confidentiality program in Kentucky to help protect victims of domestic abuse from their abusers (SB62), unanimously passed the Senate and is on its way to the House.

The legislation is sponsored by Senator Julie Denton (R) and was initiated by Secretary of State, Trey Grayson (R).

Secretary Grayson addressed the development of SB 62 as the keynote speaker for the 'emancipation themed' McCracken County Republican Women's 1st Annual Lincoln Day Luncheon in February 2007.

Thanks to caring public servants like Trey Grayson and Julie Denton, more victims of domestic abuse in the state of Kentucky may soon be emancipated from their fears of open records requests and will have the opportunity to go to the polls with confidence in their confidentiality.

Please learn more about this important legislation and help Kentucky join the 25 other states that offer the same protection to victims of domestic abuse.
